Kent Hotel Policies

Check-In Time: 4 P.M. – Check-Out Time: 12 Noon

Parking:The Kent Hotel does not have its own parking area but it does offer discounted Valet Parking Service through an outside company at a rate of $22.00 per day

Occupancy:There is a limit of 4 people (maximum) per room regardless of the category of room.

Reservations Payment: The hotel requires the pre-payment of the first night’s room and tax (tax is 13% in Miami Beach)upon the booking of any reservation.

Cancellation Policy:  We extend a 72 Hour Cancellation Policy.  Guests may cancel a reservation 3 days or more prior to their arrival date and receive a full refund of their reservation deposit. Please note that special events require a 30 Day cancellation policy.

Early Check-In: The hotel can provide an early Check-In upon availability.  A fee of 25% of the daily rate may apply.

Late Check-Out: Late check-outs will only be granted up to 4 P.M.   A fee of 25% of the daily rate may apply.  If a guest checks out past 4 P.M. the full day rate must be paid.  Late check-outs can only be confirmed on the morning of your departure.

Smoking: The Kent Hotel has both non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.  All rooms are cleaned and treated as non-smoking rooms.

Age Limits: To book a reservation or to check-in to the hotel, a guest must be 18 years of age or older.

Payment Types Accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Traveler’s Checks and Cash.  We do not accept personal checks or pre-paid credit cards as payment.

Deposits: Upon Check-in all guests are required to place a deposit on their room.  This deposit covers all incidentals (telephone calls, room service, laundry service, room damages etc. etc.)  If providing a credit card, an authorization will be placed on the card for the room and tax balance of the reservation, along with an additional amount to cover incidentals (typically it would be $60.00 per day but this amount may vary) Debit Card authorizations appear as “charges” on the card.  Once a guest has checked out authorizations typically take 3 to 5 business days to be removed.  We do not control the amount of time it takes for a hold to be removed, this is determined by the issuing bank.  Cash Deposits may be made and will be refunded upon check-out.

Lost & Found: The hotel provides in-room safes for every room.  We encourage all guests to keep any monies or valuables in their safe.  We will not be held liable for any missing items in your room.  Any items left behind after a guest has checked-out may be considered “disposable” and may be thrown out.  Should the hotel deem an item “valuable” and enter it into our “Lost and Found” items it will be held for a maximum of 30 days to give guests the opportunity to retrieve it.  Any item that has been in Lost and Found for over 30 days will be disposed of.  Guests are responsible for the shipping and handling charges associated with the retrieval of their items.

Rollaway Beds and Baby Cribs: The hotel has a limited number of Rollaway beds and Baby Cribs that we provide (free of charge) to our guests.  These are provided on a “first come first serve” basis.  We cannot guarantee the exclusive use of either item prior to check-In.

Housekeeping Services:  Housekeeping service will be provided once a day between 9 A.M. and 5 P.M.  If a guest leaves a “Do not Disturb” sign on their door, the Housekeeping Department will skip the daily service.

Packages: Hotel guests can mail packages prior to/during their stay free of charge**. We will hold the package until it is picked up by the guest. We encourage guests to put the same name on the package as the name on the reservation so it can be easily located. Guests are responsible for making sure that they retrieve their package prior to check-out. Should a package be left behind at the hotel, guests will be responsible for the shipping and handling charges associated with retrieval of their package. Any package left behind at the hotel for over 30 days will be disposed of accordingly. **Please note, the hotel reserves the right to charge a storage/handling fee on any package deemed too large – a large package would be considered anything the size of a TV or larger - there is also a limit of 3 packages per reservation regardless of the size of the packages – should a guest send more than 3 packages for the hotel to hold we reserve the right to charge a storage/handling fee, this fee can vary depending on the size, amounts and length of storage needed for said packages.

Tax Exemption: Any guest that has a Tax-Exemption status will be required to provide all the proper documentation at least 30 days prior to arrival.

Free Wi-Fi Internet: The Kent Hotel provides free Wi-Fi internet access in all our rooms as well as in the hotel common/public areas.  This service is free and does not have a cost built into your room rate.  For whatever reason should the hotel Wi-Fi network be unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances credit on your room will not be applied.

Extra-Person Fee:
All room rates are based on double occupancy (2 people).  Should a guest book a room for 2 people and  arrive at the hotel with an extra person, an additional $20.00 will be added to the daily room rate for each extra person that will be occupying the room.

Pet Policy: The Kent Hotel is a pet-friendly establishment but certain conditions apply.  There is a limit of 2 pets in a room, each pet must be 65 lbs. or less.  Please contact the hotel prior to your booking should you wish to bring a larger pet to the property.  Pets must be well behaved and must not disturb other guests while at the property.  We reserve the right to deny accommodations to any guest that cannot control persistent barking from their pets, especially during evening and early morning hours. Housekeeping service will not be given to any room that has a dog inside unless the owner is present or the dog has been secured inside a crate or cage. An additional deposit will be necessary for pet owners to cover any damages caused by their pets to the hotel’s property.
